Education is the heart of a sustaining society. At Kutumikia Schools, we recognize the disadvantages faced by undeveloped communities because of the lack of educational opportunities available. We are an international school system devoted to bringing opportunity to areas previously lacking in that regard. Our humble beginnings commenced in the Bagamoyo community of Zambia, and the success of the foundational institution has inspired us to seek expansion around our world.
What's in a name?
KUTUMIKIA
Although it may seem unfamiliar at first, "kutumikia" has great significance to our foundation. Translated as "service" in Swahili, the official language of the people of our first school, it embodies the mission of KFS. We are a school first, looking to bring educating to a passionate group of students, but we extend far beyond that. We go outside the classroom, offering services ranging from health to financial to business consultation.

The platform connecting all aspects of the community
What sets our school apart from other international institutions is the community service we provide. When developing KFS, we knew that a building, teacher, and meal for our students was not enough. If we wanted to impact all generations within a community, we knew we had to go beyond the traditional. That is why we have paired the Kutu Foundation with the traditional Mikia School.

An Innovative Classroom
Although the school system seeks a traditional classroom setting with interaction between teacher and student, the curriculum strays away from convention. Our educators develop a unique and interactive set of programs that interests all of its students. We seek to bring relevant and dynamic material to our students so that they can understand the best way to give back to their world and community.

The Kutu Foundation builds the community around the school. Whether it is the financial institution, the health services, or the business consultancy, these services reach all generations so that the school integrates itself throughout the whole community.
